Life

We are not in this life experience alone. We need each other to succeed in this life. We can't do it alone! We need to treat ourselves and others as if our life depended on it--BECAUSE IT DOES! It's so important to say I love you. But more important than that is to show that love in action. Always have your actions consistent with your words. Money can't buy love or happiness. True love comes from within. So let the inner love and happiness that you feel shine through in your actions.

Dinner

Always eat at least one meal a day together as a family. And eat it at a table not in front of the TV. This is a wonderful way to keep the communication open and flowing. Besides you will eat less. Use this time to talk about your day, problems and as a time to share experiences and testimonies.

Pruning

I was listening to Music and the Spoken Word this morning and this was the message. I couldn't say it better myself so I cut and pasted it for all to read. ENJOY!

Pruning Season

Gardeners know that pruning is one of the best things you can do for your plants, if it’s done the right way. Plants and trees may need to be pruned to remove diseased or damaged branches or to ensure that nutrients from the roots go to producing fruit. Too much pruning, however, can harm or even kill a plant. The gardener must use care and caution to get it just right.

If trees could speak, perhaps they would wonder why it is necessary to prune their branches. They may even complain that pruning is painful or that it stunts their growth. Why not just leave them alone? But eventually it becomes clear that the pruning has made the plant stronger, healthier, and more productive.

In a way, people are like trees. We too can benefit from occasionally examining ourselves and pruning a few things from our lives. Are we holding on to a grudge or resentments that need to be taken out of our soul? Do we think some things about ourselves or others that are negative or limiting that could be removed? Do we harbor in our heart some habits or feelings that we would be better off pruning from our lives?

We resist pruning, at times, because it can be painful. It’s not always easy to look deeply at our lives and question who we really are and what our life is really about. But we begin to feel the benefits almost immediately. When we shed our burdens through appropriate pruning, we actually feel lighter and freer, and we allow life’s sunlight to shine on us more fully. Over time, we find we are more able to give and receive love, more compassionate toward ourselves and others, and we see for ourselves that this pruning, this refining, really is one of the best things we can do.

Goodbye Mr. Chips

Goodbye Mr. Chips was a movie I saw a longtime ago. But I will never forget a song from that movie. The title, "Fill the World With Love" has remained a favorite of mine all these years. Especially these lyrics from that song, "Have I filled the world with love?" This is something I ask myself almost daily. This is a question we all should ask ourselves often. I believe if we all asked this questions of ourselves this world would be an even more amazing place to be a part of. LOVE. How powerful is this emotion, word, and feeling. It has an effect on everyone it comes in contact with. It's influence is powerful and long lasting. So the challenge I leave with you today is to fill the world with love your whole life long.

Change

"We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand." Randy Pausch Many of us at times go through hard times; loss of a loved one, a life threatening diagnosis, or a trial of our faith. These are the times when you find out the kind of person you truly are. How we play the cards says a lot about our character and how we value ourselves.

I have watched and prayed for many loved one who struggle with life situations, that are very difficult' in awe. What strong and faithful people I have surrounded myself with. The way they play the cards gives me strength and desire to be a better person. How lucky we are to have great people in our lives to travel with in this life. How lonely and dark this world would be without them.

Sayings

One of my favorite sayings is "If you do what you have always done, you will get what you have always got".

There are as many ways to do one thing as there are people on this earth. If you want different results you have to be willing to do something different than you have done before.

No one can read your mind. No one knows what you r needs are except you. So if you truly want something you have to ask for it. If you need a hug...Just ask. Trust yourself when it comes to your needs. And then Just ask. Then and only then will you truly receive what you really need.

Actions

Always make your actions consistent with your words. You cannot expect people to believe you if you are saying one thing and doing another. This kind of action puts out mixed messages and is very confusing. When actions a words match up there is a sense of security which we are all seeking for in this life.

You will never be better than the people you are comparing yourself to unless that person is yourself.

Always be the best you. And remember no one can do you better than you can. Fall in love with who you are. There is no one quite like you in this world. So let your light shine and light up the world.
